My mommy group had a Christmas party gathering today. This group has given me the chance to meet some very wonderful women, and establish some life long friendships. I am extremely thankful for being able to be apart of it for both Ryker, and I.

Everyone picking out a book

Everyone brought a book, and then we put them into a pile and let the kids pick one from it. It was a lot of fun. Ryker LOVES to read books, so he was very happy to get a new one. He picked out clifford the big red dog. We have already read several pages tonight.

Eli turns 2

Ryker's very good friend Eli turned 2 on December 2nd. On the 3rd he had a party a place called, Going Apes here in Burleson. It is a giant open area filled with games, toys, and bounce houses. Basically a kids dream land. He had a BLAST at his party with his buddies. I am SO thankful to have met SO SO many wonderful people, and made great friends with this move. I am even more thankful that Ryker is establishing some wonderful friendships (that I know will be lifelong) as well.

Odd sleeping habbits

Ok, I usually only give Ryker a nap(or try) 3 or so times a week. He generally does not nap, but plays quietly for an hour or so in his room. Well, this day he was tired, this is how i found him after about 10 min of him being in his room. As you can see he thrashed his books(typical), and found himself a cozy little spot. HOW, is this comfortable??

On Thanksgiving day while daddy was at work, Ryker and I decided to make a gingerbread house.

We started a tradition within our 3 piece family this year.I baked some cookies and we took them to the local fire station on Thanksgiving day and THANKED them for all they do, and continue to do for our community.

Ryker got to sit in the drivers seat of the firetruck and on the front of it. He was pretty happy about it.

This was one of the firefighters we got to talk with. He was very nice, and welcomed us back whenever we wanted to.

Some energy and ABC

This is Ryker on a day to day basis. The kid has more energy than any child I have ever seen. He DOES NOT nap anymore and still has obscene amounts of energy. Here is a taste for you all.

Birthday parties

Since we have moved to Texas, Ryker has attended about 5 birthday parties. These kids get the coolest parties I have ever been to. (did I mention they are all 4 or under?) This past weekend was Mr Ryan's first birthday party. They had a petting zoo AND train ride. It was SO much fun. All the kids (and adults) had a great time.

Play dates

We have had a few Thanksgiving play dates recently, with our "mommy group" we are apart of. One was our Thanksgiving celebration where we all brought food and had a great time just letting the kiddos play(and moms talk). We all left with our bellies full and great conversation had.

I hosted a "toilet paper roll turkey" play date a few days ago. The kids had fun making this craft, and of course just being able to get together and let them play and just be kids.

Date night

Brian and I got a night out recently. This almost never used to happen when we lived in Iowa due to lack of having grandparents around. Now that we live just a short drive from Brian's parents, we get to do this once a month or so. We had dinner, followed by some drinks in downtown Fort Worth. We also went to a place called Billy Bobs. It is the worlds largest honkey tonk. Look it up if you have free time. It was pretty fun, although we are not big country people, we had a great time just watching people dance(on a HUGE dance floor) and just being out with out a toddler.

Happy birthday big bro

Today is my brother Brandon's 32nd birthday(old man!) I am so glad we go to get together recently. I miss him being 3 miles from my front door. Love you big bro!

Happy birthday Brian!

Nov 7th is Brian's birthday. We had his parents over and enjoyed some dinner and cake. I made his favorite meal, Chicken fried steak, gravy, and potatoes, as well as some veggies and cake for after. I got all the recipes off Pinterest. That site is my new obsession, has been for about 3 months now. It is a wonderful place to get ideas and or recipes.

Happy 31st birthday!!

Weight update

As of last friday I have lost 24 lbs in my journey since I started in July. I really don't notice it much, but I do notice subtle things like my pants fitting a little better, or my shirts a little more roomy. My goal is 3 lbs away to lose 27lbs by my 27th birthday. I hope to be 10 lbs our so beyond that by then, but I take it one day at a time.
