We love Toy Story

Ryker has finally started to like other movies recently. Although we love Cars, it was getting pretty sad at how I could recite the thing from 2 rooms away while cleaning. Some of his new favorites are Nemo(now every fish is Nemo) Up(close second to Cars) and Toy Story 1 and 3. (we do not have Toy Story 3 yet) cough cough, grandma and grandpa. ;) This is a picture of him enjoying his Saturday morning watching Toy Story.

Monster truck!!!!

Brian and I were driving one day searching for a store, and found a monster truck. We HAD to take Ryker to it of course. He was pretty excited to say the least.

Swimming

We have basically become half fish this summer. Ryker LOVES the pool just as much as his mom. Here are a few pics from the other day.

This is what he does best

Friends

Last week our friends Cody and Alesha(fellow Iowans) :) had us over for dinner. Alesha's man is a chef at a restaurant in Dallas..that being said..we had some very yummy food. We had a great time eating, chatting, and just hanging out. Our friends Jeannine and Jeff, along with Julie were also there. The kids always have so much fun together. This was the end result.

Water gun Play date

Yesterday was a play date here at our house. In spirit of it bein so stinkin hot, we had a water gun themed one. The kids ran around and tried to keep cool by drenching each other with the water. Also, as you can see our yard is in very sad shape thanks to the lack of rain..I think thats what its called right? Rain? We have not seen rain where we live since the end of May. It is VERY dry to say the least.

Museum

We have been using our season pass to the Fort Worth Museum Of science and History often this summer thanks to the never ending heat. For those of you who do not know, today is 27 days in a row of 100+ degrees here in the DFW. Where we live (just a bit south of Forth Worth) is 30+ days. It is HOT! So, the museum is a great place to stay cool and burn energy..and I suppose learn a bit too.

Lowe's building time!

This time it was building binoculars. Brian got to join this time and got to help Ryker. He had fun with it. He knew when we got back to the area where they do this, that he was going to make something. He even said, HAMMER HAMMER!

Really??!!??

Ok, first of all, if you have a queazy stomach, I suggest not looking at these photos. They are rather gross and graphic. That being said, if you have a child Im almost positive you may be able to handle it, and understand what we had to go through. As many of you know, we have Ryker about 95% potty trained. When he takes his naps(or plays in his room awake quietly) he usually always knocks on the door and says, "mommy I need go potty", then I let him to potty and that is that. Well, yesterday he decided to knock on the door and say, "mommy...mommy...MOMMY" in a very sad and almost concerned voice. When I got about 3 feet from the door, I knew something was not good. I opened the door and saw a very naked Ryker standing amongst a large amount of poo around him. He too was of course covered head to toe..and I mean head. to. toe. I looked at Brian half afraid and half stunned and said, O ....MY.....GOD! Ryker started saying, "o my gosh mom, o my gosh, o my gosh" over and over. Brian got Ryker in the tub right away and I started what seemed like a never ending task of where do I even start, cleaning his room, cars, teddy bears, bed, walls, dresser, changing table, back of door, baby monitor....EVERYTHING! It took us a good 45 min to get it all cleaned up. It took every single ounce of adult in me, to make it through. All while laughing, and (nearly crying at times for me from complete disgust). WOW..the joys of parent hood. WOW Again, I know this is beyond gross, but I HAD to take pics for future embarrassment for the times he thinks he's too cool for something.
I could not describe this as anything other than a poo crime scene.

Nothing was spared

S'mores

We recently had a S'mores play date. Im sure you may be curious as to what that may be exactly. I found a craft where you put together s'mores(fake ones). Figured we may as well make some for a snack while we were at it. We had a good time, and they turned out pretty cute!

Cupcakes!

We had a cupcake play date last week. One of the moms in the group attends this church, and they let us use the kitchen and all the toys. The kids LOVED all the space to play with the unlimited amount of toys.

Week one...

So, in the past week I have worked very hard towards my goal of losing 27lbs by the time I turn 27. The extreme heat has helped me a little bit too. I have lost a total of 9lbs in 7 days. Already it has gotten a little easier to jog more and more. Here we go onto another week.

Fun day Sunday with friends

This past Sunday we had some friends come over for some fun in the sun out back, and dinner together. Also, big news, Ryker has his first love. Maya..he LOVES Maya! It is SO cute I can hardly stand it. Best part is, she is an(original) Iowa girl. Whenever he is bad or not listening, I tell him that we wont be playing with Maya anymore...it usually works and he straightens up.

Everyone had fun playing in Rykers bed

Ryker and Maya casually kicking each other

This is Julie..she is ADORABLE

This is Thatcher..he has the cutest little laugh

Violets turns 4

Saturday we went to Violet's, a friend of Rykers 4th birthday party, and had SO much fun! They had an abundance of treats and a bounce house. The perfect mix to make a bunch of crazy children. We had a great time.

Hair

I got my first hair cut in about 2 years the other day. Now, I only got about an inch off in length, but I did get some "swoopy bangs" (not sure of the correct term). Following the latest trend of putting feathers in your hair, I got a feather in my hair. Now I am cool.

Build a tow truck at Lowes

I had been seeing these free clinics for kids at Lowe's when we would go get our usual random home needs. I wasn't to sure if Ryker was at the speed just yet, but thought I would sign up for one and see how it went. Turns out he LOVED it. I did most the hammering of the nails, but he helped with it a lot . And he LOVES his new two truck created by himself and mom. You can tell he takes more pride in this truck vs. others he has.

The TERRIBLE 2's

Today....Today started out bad about 3 minutes into it. Ryker had a VERY whiney, dramatic, day. Everything that anyone tells you about the so called "terrible twos", happened today with Ryker. I have never claimed that Ryker is perfect, but he generally is a laid back kid with his occasional spaz out moments. But today, today it was all rolled into one for me. We started the day with a trip to the museum with friends for the museums mascots, 6Th birthday celebration. Cupcakes and Disney radio channel included. He had fun, but I think it may have been a little too much going on. The day also included a full out break away from me by Ryker. If you don't know what I mean exactly, I mean that he turned and took off away from me so fast it made my head spin. Luckily as I was chasing him in the mall and yelling at him to stop(I was THAT mom), a very kind lady grabbed him and said, is he yours?? from across the mall. He was in T.R.O.U.B.L.E after that. We had a talking in the bathroom(since of course he had an accident too) and he was ok after that. It was a very testing day to say the least. Don't get me wrong, the majority of days outweigh days like this that remind me, that I am 150% blessed to have him in my life, but...wow..today was a doozie. Here are some photos of his "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" acts. Enjoy!

It basically went from this...

..to this in 3.25 seconds

Me

He will be a fantastic big brother someday

Blaise and Ryker

Our friends that joined us.

On a different note, today makes day 3 of my lifestyle change. I have walked/jogged about 7 miles total in the last 3 days. In this heat, and in my shape(or lack of shape) I am proud of it. It has been hard and very painful, but Im finding this odd will inside me telling me to just keep going, and it feels great. :)
